Artista guests are inspiring, accomplished women
of all ages and backgrounds who are looking to treat
their minds and souls to a unique, shared experience.
Ages range from 24 to 70, with most guests between
40 and 65. Doctors, writers, scientists, moms, lawyers,
teachers, entrepreneurs and retirees attend Artista.
They have one thing in common - a desire to discover
or rediscover their own creativity. Other common
interests are a love of color, fabrics, gardening,
decorating, crafting and outdoor activities. Many
women have dabbled in different types of art over
the years and many had lifelong dreams of painting. In
the end, most women sacrificed their own artistic
ambitions for other priorities like family and career.
By the time they find us, women are ready to let
their creativity run free, and more importantly,
do something nice for themselves.

"I never thought I could do it."
"I was relieved to find that most students had
no experience. I have have to admit, all of the paintings
looked pretty good. We may not be ready for the Getty,
but it's a start. The folks at Artista promised a
unique experience and they delivered."
"Painting has really helped me to take life
slower and to make sure I start enjoying the things
that we hold in our hearts."
"An ad for Artista called to my heart and soul.
The staff at Artista are all gems and made me feel
very special with attention to every detail, sometimes
going far beyond my expectations in attentiveness.
Attending the Artista Creative safari was a turning
point in my life. I am no longer suppressing my passion,
and I have found the light at the end of the tunnel."
"What a gift!"
"I work a lot and was reluctant to take the
time to do this. I had no formal painting background.
The learning experience was enjoyable, and the company
of the other women was wonderful. A great experience!"
"I'm sending my daughter to the August session."
"The Artista experience was the greatest gift
I could have given myself. I felt so in touch with
a part of myself I hadn't tapped into since I was
a child. In a real way, my experience with 45 minutes
of painting was as profound for me as the week of
surfing had been. (Jenny is a Las Olas alumnae)
For me, there was no real ego involved in the experience
because I had no expectations about my abilities.
The most painting I've done in the last 30 years
is finger-painting with Leo, so I had no idea what
to expect and felt completely open to taking the "ride," whatever
that was. I was thrilled with the experience."
